Dear Green Meadow Community!
We successfully completed an ALICE evacuation drill this afternoon where students and staff practiced exiting the building to Crowe Park. Our evacuation earned praise from @MaynardPolice for being orderly and efficient. We were able to account for all students quickly and reentered the building. Thank you to our faculty, staff & students for a great drill!
Best,
Jennifer Gaudet

Dear School Community,
Fire Chief Stowers was notified of teacher request at the Green Meadow School for additional lock down devices in their relocated rooms. The Chief consulted with the State Fire Marshall and determined that our current devices do not meet code. Chief Stowers Contacted our DPW Director and I late yesterday to notify us to remove these devices before school started today.
Our staff has been trained in the ALICE protocols. They understand how to barricade a door in the absence of any lock down devices. This will be the method to be used should until Chief Stowers can meet with the safety committee to discuss alternative lock systems. The safety committee will be meeting today to discuss this new development.
Sincerely, Supt. Gerardi
