EDIT: A correction to the previous post. The Interim Superintendent, Mary Jane Rickson was listed as Assistant Superintendent/Principal at BayPath in Charlton, in fact she held that title at Pathfinder in Palmer
Last night at the School Committee meeting the board ratified the Interim Superintendent Contract with Mary Jane Rickson. Ms. Rickson joins Maynard having served as a Secondary Curriculum Director at Athol-Royalston and Assistant Superintendent/Principal at Baypath Regional Vocational School District. Maynard is excited to welcome Ms. Rickson, who will be starting next Wednesday. Ms. Rickson will be setting up community meetings later in the month and more information will be forthcoming.
The Green Meadow Future Committee has planned two community beautification events for August 11 and 17. These events will run from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Green Meadow School. Volunteers are needed for plant removal near the building and spreading wood chips around the playground structure. Volunteers are asked to bring hand tools and Wheelbarrows if possible. If you are interested in participating in this community event, please sign up by going to this website: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0c4fadae23a7f85-green.
The Green Meadow project continues to move according to plan. All sinks have been installed and painting is complete. Wiring and installation of fire alarms is complete. The majority of the rooms have been fogged, with the exception of three rooms that are currently storing furniture. Once the renovations are complete the entire building will be fogged again. The facilities staff continues to work in the remainder of the building and a deep cleaning for the entire building will start on August 9th and continue through the 15th.
Finally Maynard Public Schools would like to sincerely thank Colleen Moore who leaves the district today to begin her retirement. Ms. Moore has served the district in multiple capacities for over 25 years. We wish Ms. Moore a great deal of happiness in this next adventure.
Green Meadow Project Update:

Lighting fixtures are being hung on the Kindergarten side of the wing and all security fixtures are anticipated to be installed by the end of next week. The project remains on target for an August 9th completion and for teacher's to occupy rooms by August 19.
