It's back to school time! Don't forget to apply for free/reduced school breakfast and lunch, don't delay! Apply now at https://www.schoollunchapp.com or ask for a lunch application in your school's office. If your student was eligible for free or reduced priced meals last year, and you didn't receive a letter from Maynard Public Schools stating they were free or reduced again this year, you must apply before October 8th to keep this status. Also please remember to visit MySchoolBucks to update your account. MySchoolBucks www.myschoolbucks.com is a website for parents to pay for their child’s school meals using a credit or debit card. With this online service, parents can also view a child’s cafeteria purchases, make payments for their children even if they attend different schools, and set up automatic email reminders to be notified when a payment is needed. Please email candrade@maynard.k12.ma.us if you have any questions.

August, 15, 2019 Dear Maynard School Family, I would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year, and am honored to have been chosen as the Interim Superintendent of Schools in Maynard. I want to thank the members of the community and the district for the warm reception I’ve received since being selected. I am excited to begin this journey with the Maynard School District. As an educator for the past twenty-nine years, it is my core belief that all students are afforded educational opportunities to ensure success academically and personally. We may face many obstacles in our journey together, but I can assure you that I am committed to building community, deepening collaboration, and improving communication. In addressing these three tenets, we will have the ability to create a nurturing environment for staff and students, balance fiscal responsibility, and strengthen our educational programs. I look forward to meeting all of our dedicated teachers, staff, and committed families. I am especially excited to meet all of your children and hear what they are interested in so that we can provide them with a high quality educational experience. I look forward to seeing and talking with you within the community. In closing, I would like to invite each of you to a Superintendent’s Meet and Greet at the Maynard High School Cafeteria from on August 21, 2019 from 5:30-6:30, snacks will be provided. I look forward to meeting you. Respectfully, Mary Jane Rickson, M.Ed.
