Dear Maynard School Community,
Thank you for your patience as we are working through some of the logistical challenges to our current situation. As per the governor's announcement last night, Maynard Public Schools will be closed until April 7, 2020. In an effort to address the many questions raised about this situation, Maynard Public Schools adapted the following Frequently Asked Questions Document to help provide information.
A few items of note:
The district is compiling educational resources students and families can use during the extended closure. Until that page is complete, the FAQ page has some sample resources
It is important to know that in order to ensure equity of access the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has mandated that any work completed during this extended closure be for enrichment purposes only. Students will not be penalized nor will they receive extra credit for this work.
All school buildings and offices are currently closed and will remain so until April 7, 2020
The district continues to work with local organizations and our food service provider to establish food programs for this period of time. More information will be forthcoming.
Updated information from the Town of Maynard can be found here
As we have seen over the last 24 hours, this is an ever-evolving situation. Please know that the administration, faculty, and staff are here for you. We will continue to provide updated information as it becomes available to us. Be well.
