Massachusetts Education Department on School Councils

The law outlines four major areas of responsibility for councils. School councils are to assist principals in:

  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards

  2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school

  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget

  4. Formulating a school improvement plan

MEETING DATES SCHEDULED FOR 2020-2021

  • Dates (Tuesdays): November 17th, December 8th, January 12th, February 9th, March 9th, April 13th, May 11th, and June 8th

  • Time: 6:15pm-7:15pm

  • Location: Virtual Meetings via Zoom

  • All School Council Meetings are open for attendance by any community member
