Dear Parents of MHS Fall Athletes,

The fall Athletic season is off to a great start!  It is great to see all the athletes of MHS back on the fields, trails and golf course.  The MHS Booster Club is a parent run organization that supports all athletic teams. We are writing to introduce you to this organization and explain some of our activities.

Apparel:  The Booster Club is sponsoring a way for teams and individuals to order MHS apparel!  Please go to Apparel Link to go to the Booster Club online apparel website.   If you scroll down, there are apparel choices for each sport.  Orders can be made online and the items are shipped directly to Maynard High School.  We ask the captains of each team to choose three or four items that they would like to be able to purchase.  Captains or coaches can see Brenda Sullivan for catalogs.

Shack:  The Booster Club runs the snack shack at Alumni field.  This is the major fundraising opportunity for the Booster Club.  All money raised goes directly back to athletes and teams for items such as varsity jackets, trophies and scholarships.  Please sign up to help out and support The Shack. Anne Boerman sends out a sign up genius frequently throughout the season. Please encourage parents to sign up using the link in that email.  If you do not receive the email or are unable to sign up using the link, they can email Anne Boerman directly at aboerman@verizon.net.

Awards Ceremony:  The Booster Club hosts an award ceremony at the end of each athletic season.  The fall ceremony is December 5, 2018 at the MHS auditorium.  All athletes and parents should attend.  Athletes should sit in the front rows with their team.   Students should wear something nice; this is not the event for hoodies and sweats.

Bonfire:  The spirit bonfire is in the fall. Date TBD.   We encourage all teams to participate.

Community Service Event:  At the end of the fall season, there is a community service competition for the teams to help rake leaves for senior citizens of Maynard.  This is a great way for teams to give back to the community. Be on the lookout for the date in early November and encourage your child to participate.  The team with the most participants earns a free pizza party.

Thanks for reading.  Please feel free to contact us at gail.lucas1@gmail.com, if you have any questions.  Kevin Caruso, Athletic Director, is also a good resource for questions.

Good luck this season!  Go Tigers!
